Research Experience
Research Interests : | Biomedical signal (EEG, ECG, EMG ) analysis and classification, Speech signal processing, Deep Learning for Signal Classification, Medical Image Processing, Image Segmentation and Classification, Machine Learning | |
Brief Research Statement : | Being a researcher, my primary interest is working on challenging problems. My research group works on the development of new features and methods with a lesser computation time for analyzing biomedical signals and images. Recent non-stationary signal processing and machine learning techniques can be effectively applied for analyzing physiological signals. In the field of electroencephalogram (EEG) signal processing, we work on epileptic seizure detection, epileptic source localization, epileptic seizure prediction, detection of spike wave discharges, detection of sleep spindles, detection of high frequency oscillations in EEG signals, brain-computer interface, human emotion recognition, etc. We explore different variants of deep neural algorithms for the classification of EEG signals. In the area of cardiac signal analysis, we work on the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), atrial fibrillation (AF), different types of arrhythmias, septal defects, congenital heart diseases, and heart valve disorders using electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart rate variability (HRV) signals. We also work in the area of medical image processing techniques. Some of our recent research works in this area are based on the development of methods for image segmentation and classification using deep neural networks. We would like to collaborate with renowned national and international research labs. I encourage highly motivated B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD students interested in this area for joining our research group. |
