Dr. Deepak Sharma received his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Thermal Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar in 2017. Earlier, he received his M. Tech from the same institute in 2013, and B. Tech from Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow in the year of 2010. He has joined NIT Hamirpur as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 19.11.2018. Prior to joining NIT Hamirpur, during 2017-2018, Dr. Deepak has served as a Contract faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Silchar, Assam. On his research work he has published 3 SCI & 3 Scopus Indexed Journal papers. He has around 11 International Journal papers and 3 International Conference papers. His research interests are Nanofluid heat transfer in nuclear reactor, Thermal Hydraulics in Nuclear Reactor, Single phase and Multiphase flow in channels, Thermal Energy storage.

Research Interests : Nanofluid heat transfer, Thermal Hydraulics in Nuclear reactor, Single phase and Multiphase flow and Thermal Energy storage.
Brief Research Statement : In his PhD work, he has worked on thermo-mechanical behavior of fuel rod at initial burn up and heat transfer enhancement using various advanced fluids like: CuO-water based Nanofluid, SiO2-water based Nanofluid, ZnO-water based Nanofluid & TiO2 –water based Nanofluid. Dr. Deepak Sharma has received his PhD on CFD Analysis of Thermal Hydraulics Behavior of Fuel Rod Using Nanofluids in Light Water Nuclear Reactor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Silchar.
